|  | on our visit in bali, the blanco renaissance museum is definitely one of few places i put on the list of must visit place, no matter what. i've been admiring his works of art since this spanish artist still very much a live. this museum situated at the village of ubud near the campuan river is more likely a sanctuary, a perfect resample of a paradise. after entering the chinese style circular gate you'll be welcomed with a giant shiva statue from the hindunese myth . some tamed parrots, various species of cockatoos, makaws, and a big black hornbill will soon guide you to enjoy a magnificent yet well arranged tropical garden. for a while you'll be forgotten of those paintings made by the maestro don antonio blanco awaited inside. antonio blanco him self was born in manila in 15 september 1911, from both spanish parent. having educated in usa then landed in bali in 1952. ------- the next gallery we visited in ubud is the simon's art zoo, an american painter who has been captured by the beauty of bali and balinese men since 1972. the way he put nature on canvas remind me of ari smit's vivid colors style. and to be honest i couldn't stop recalling warhol's style while enjoying the pop-art painting he made. as i saw the warning sign outside the gallery 'danger art' there i felt that i was entering what is called as a 'house of sodom' since naked male figures on canvases or sculptures were easily seen in various daring style and also graphicaly displayed. |
