gunung kawi temple is perhaps one of the most unique temple i've seen so far. surrounded by beautiful beautiful paddy terraces, the temple is differs to the others for it's architectural technique. the temples is not made out of terracotta or bricks like other puras (temples), it was built by carving a 7th meter giant rock wall or perhaps limestone wall. this temple dates back to the 11th century. fyi the movie entitled 'the fall' were also took set at this place.
